Cristina Garcia excels on J.B. Alexander HS track team

The 2026 UIL Texas High School Track & Field Season started this weekend.

Senior J. B. Alexander High School (Laredo, TX) Track SUPER Star Cristina Garcia

From Laredo, Texas, High Schools, Cristina Garcia was the only athlete to win a UIL REGION Track & Field Championship to reach the UIL Class 6A State Track and Field Championships in May 2025 as a junior.

She set multiple Laredo city records in 2025 and achieved the following at the state meet: 100-meter Hurdles: Placed 6th in the state with a record-shattering time of 13.86 seconds. Triple Jump: Placed 6th in the state with a leap of 39 feet, 5.75 inches, also a city record.

Historical Milestone: She was the first girl athlete from Alexander to reach the state ELITE Track & Field 6-A meet since 2019 and the first regional champion for the program since 2007. Following her performance, she was named to the THSCA Super Elite Team, one of only 16 athletes chosen statewide.

The much-anticipated 2026 Track & Field Season is underway, and NCAA D1 recruiters along with Cristina's fans are watching as she will be trained to reach peak performance athletically for the UIL Region IV Championships and the 2026 UIL State 6-A Track & Field Championships., along with Cristina's fans.
