Kimberly Gonzales is a standout powerlifter for Laredo Nixon High School who recently became the first girl in Mustang School's history to win three consecutive Region 5 titles. Kimberly competes in the unequipped division of the THSWPA. Kimberly entered the 2026 state-bound rankings in second place with an impressive performance at the 2026 5-A Region meet. 198-pound (historically competed in 220-lb).Regional Stats: Squatted 350 lbs, benched 150 lbs, and deadlifted 365 lbs for an 865-pound total.State Standing: Currently ranked #2 in the state, trailing only Granbury's Estrella Diaz. Competing for Nixon K in mberly has been consistent finishes at the state level:2025 State Championship: Earned a Bronze Medal (3rd place) in the 198-pound weight class.2024 State Championship: Secured a Bronze Medal (3rd place) in the 220-pound weight class. Kimberly Gonzalez is scheduled to compete in the 2026 THSWPA State Championships on Thursday, March 19, 2026. She is in the unequipped 198-pound division.
