She is a UIL Track and Field ALL-State athlete from John B. Alexander High School in Laredo, and was named to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) 6A Super Elite Team for girls track and field in June 2025.
During her 2025 junior season, she made history as the first Alexander athlete to represent the girls' track program at the state meet since 2019.
Her accomplishments include: All-State Honors: One of only 16 athletes statewide selected for the Super Elite Team, and the only representative from outside the major hubs of Dallas, Houston, Austin, or Round Rock.
Her State Performance was for the ages as she placed 6th in the state in both the 100-meter hurdles and the triple jump at the UIL Class 6A State Championships in Austin.
Cristina now owns the Laredo City Records: she set two new city records at the state meet with a time of 13.86 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and a mark of 39 feet, 5.75 inches in the triple jump—regional Champion.
To get to state, she won the region IV title in the 100-meter hurdles, becoming Laredo Alexander's first regional champion in the event in 2007.
Her elite performance earned her NCAA Division I scholarship offers from programs at SMU and Appalachian.
